STEVE FRYER is well known for his gentle, tried and tested methods of getting your dog to work in harmony with you.
This fabulous new DVD gives the viewer easy to follow basic advice to get the consistent behaviour that we all - at one time or another - wish for in our dogs.
Set out in easy subjects the programme allows you to visit various problem areas in any order; and range from the basic 'sit' and 'down' commands to recall work. The section I found particularly interesting for me dealt with dogs who pull on the lead. I tried this out on my own dogs and, in an amazingly short time, it worked where all other attempts had failed!
A must for anyone who wants to start a gentle training regime with their dog, and an equally interesting section on Steve's history, his theories and much more.

The DVD gave very clear instructions to assist with problem behaviours such as pulling on the lead, recall work, jumping up as well as guidance on how to teach certain desirable behaviours such as the sit and down commands as well as some basic puppy work. In this manual, Steve introduces himself as The Dog Whisperer. He
then goes on to explain his experience as a former guide dog trainer,
and his more recent work in both the USA and UK training thousands
of dogs.
Living in Harmony with your Dog gives clear simple descriptions of
how to deal with situations involving separation anxiety, the barking
habit and problems with noise phobia.
Included in the manual are three handy sets of laminated cards on
rings. Each set covers a couple of different training tips. These
would be helpful to someone who wanted to do some dog training but
wasn’t sure they’d remember it all. Simply, take the cards with you
and flip through them as you need. The training cards cover topics
such as how to achieve the sit, how to recall your dog, walking your
dog to heel and teaching no jumping up on people.
I found these tips extremely sensible, practical and realistic.
It is common sense with a few handy tips thrown in. There are no
fancy words, just plain label down to earth good advice.

THE SPRAY COMMANDER REMOTE TRAINING COLLAR
This collar can be used to great effect with some dogs for recall work where you have tried all the normal recall work and your dog has gone selectively deaf, changing some habit behaviours and separation anxiety.
It should be used with care. It is NOT an electric shock collar but emits either a remote loud buzz or releases one of two differing lengths of sprays, which can be used to distract your dog from a particular unwanted habit or behaviour.
The collar works upto about 100 yards (92m)
The collar's remote control has three buttons:
- button 1 activates the loud buzz (alert) noise
- button 2 activates a short citronella smell spray
- button 3 activates a much longer spray (personally I never use button 3, as it is too long a burst of the spray).
There is a useful on/off switch under the collar and it is rainproof but not dog swim proof, though it will dry out if your springer heads off swimming with it on!
If you purchase one of these training aids from me I will always buy the collar back from you at half the cost price if: it has done its job and the dog's behaviour has changed or if your dog stops having a reaction to the buzz or spray and provided, of course, that the collar is not damaged or faulty in anyway.

I am very pleased
to announce my first foray as The Dog Whisperer into the world of
videos.Produced by TDW Videos in conjunction with Motion Pictures International Limited.
PLEASE note that this is not your run of the mill training video....it is a mixture of advice and practical work for puppy owners, rescue dog owners and 'ordinary' dog owners alike based on my years of experience working with guide dogs and now as an international trainer as The Dog Whisperer.
In the video I talk briefly about my animal related background, my time with Guide Dogs for the Blind as an instructor and then specifically in depth about how I work and the problems that I deal with on a day to day basis as a 1 2 1 trainer.
Filmed on location at Trindledown Farm, near Hungerford, the rescue home for elderly dogs, the video records my recent lecture there, shows me working with dogs at the centre including hooligan dogs of the staff.
So something for everyone, especially if you are having problems with your dog pulling, jumping up or not coming back to you.
As you will see me during the lecture working dogs that show these problems and changing their behaviour.
